29 August – Thistle angel

Caught, held,
arrested in flight,
a wispy thistle angel
breezily alights.
Guardian wings cradle round,
protecting tiny, precious seed,
vow to carry it far on the wind,
to serve its growing need.
I place it on the table
by the open door,
it flies away to freedom,
just as before.
